What problems have you had with your Maximas?

Hello Everyone,

I'm new to this board and I was just curious as to what problems you've had out of your car. I read a little about the transmission problem but, I'm just curious as to what problems because I'm thinking about buying a 5th gen Maxima in a few months.

nissanmaximas: I've read other owners reviews and they've complained about brake problems as well. I don't believe it is your foot at all. I know one person posted a complaint with NHTSA on a 5th gen Maxima. As for the transmission, what's up with these transmissions in these cars? Okay the Acura CL has a bad transmission and now the Maxima? I wonder what's up with that?

Eric: lol, well try to keep below. Don't want you to any speeding tickets. But, my friend has a hard time doing the same thing in his 89 Maxima SE. Well until his dad busted him hehe

Well take it easy guys. I'd like to hear from a few more as far as transmission, engine, etc.

I have a 2k2 six-speed, and have noticed the throttle hesitation/lag a few times.

My main complaint is with my Bose in-dash changer. Tuned to either the radio (AM or FM) and the casette, everything sounds fine. But try to play a CD and only right speakers and rear deck sub will work. Of course, go over a decent bump-and the left speakers will come on again, until I brake for a light or stopsign or whatnot-then they fizzle off again.

Took it in to the dealer-they said "we'll just order you a replacement headunit".

That was MAY 22nd.

I've been so busy I haven't been able to take it to any other dealers yet to see if it wouldn't take a farking month to fix my new farking car.

Hey, Nissan, if I'd wanted bad service, I'd have bought a Yugo. Yeesh.

Anyone have any good recommendations for good dealers in Dallas? ...Other than Bankston in Irving?
