AE A/T Shifter Update
Hey guys- We finally ripped apart a 2K SE yesterday, & found out what the prob is with the AE shifter. Basically, "tab A" won't fit into "slot B". The shifter stem has a plastic plunger sticking out of it, (as per Paul2KGXE's pics) & this plunger won't fit all the way up into the AE ****. According to Nissan, all the part #'s are the same, so hence the mystery! To make the AE **** fit, you must remove the o/d switch very carefully with a small flat screwdriver, then you can clearance the hole where the plunger fits in. Then, the plunger itself has to be filed to fit up in the ****. I ordered in a whole AE shifter assembly, I'm going to dis-assemble it and hopefully post pics of how to do this! Anyway, I appreciate everyone's patience with this issue, South Point Nissan is definitely working to get it resolved!

Thanks for calling me today about this. Based upon our conversation, I'm confident I can make those minor modifications to install the shifter. Once it warms up a little, I'll reattempt the installation and take more photos.

Paul, can you....
E-mail me or post what Dave said. If it sounds easy, maybe I will try it. Just wondering what the process was.
Thanks.
Also, thanks Dave for doing that. It is rare that a company will go to such lengths to investigate problems by trying them themselves. I hope I speak for most when I say how appreciative we are at your high level of customer service!!

Dave is the Man.....
I really don't know any dealership that would go to the lengths to help out anyone like this... I talked to all the other places and Dave by far has to be the best customer service that I've come across. That means alot in who I give my money to!!!!!! Thanks for going the extra mile Dave.
