check your horns!!!

yesterday when driving, some dumba** was driving in the exit lane trying to get ahead of traffic and cut in. well i was in the exit lane trying to exit and that idiot was in my way so i proceeded to honk my fiame horns, notes E and F, at him . as they were blasting away , one of the horns died. like someone was choking it. so today i checked it out. doing normal trouble shooting, disconnect the other horn and just honk that one. nope doesn't work. checked the fuses. nope ,them are good. so i took it off and was going to take it back and exchange it. well when i was taking it out, i turned it and water started draining out of it.this is the horn located in front of the radiator. so i found my problem. i mounted it with the opening horn opening facing up. bad idea. so i bought a new one and switched where i mounted them . E in the front, F by the engine.

so take a look at yours if you upgraded your horns

Re: check your horns!!!

Same thing happens to alarm sirens when people go through car washes.

cuz the horns on our max's are WEAK!

Even the Altima's have a louder (more assertive "sounding") horn.

Our horns sound like they belong on a li'l Neon or something.

But that's just em.....

Because we hate the "meep meep" sound. We might as well be driving a VW beetle.

After you upgrade your horns, you'll start trying to find a reason to honk your horns.

I always leave my car to honk when I lock it. And I honk way more than I have too in front of a freinds house to get him out.

Or is it just me?

The factory E/F horns have a “loopback” resonator on them that actually robs power from the engine. Replacing them with after-market horns will give you approximately 4-6 FWHP on a GXE and slightly more (6-8 FWHP) on all SE models.
