Take a look at this pic (compliments of MrBurner):
<img src="http://www.geocities.com/turboburnout/eibach1.jpg">

Notice behind the grill the two black diagnal bars going from the top middle sloping down to the outside. They are steel bars that connect the top middle of the engine bay chassis to the lower subframe. Originally when I noticed it on my car I thought that may be a big reason behind why Nissan claims X% greater structural rigidity in the 5th gen compared to the 4th gen. Then at one of the DC meets I was looking at something on Pauls GXE and noticed it didn't have them? Can some of you other guys check out your cars and tell us if you have them or not and what model you have. I'm curious if this is just an SE feature or what.

I've never driven anything but an SE so I'm not sure what difference (if any) it makes. I may have discovered a new mod for at least GXE owners! But for all I know everyone has them, which would mean Pauls dealer has some explaining to do...(sorry I keep using you as an example Paul).

And thanks to MrBurner for the unauthorized use of his jpeg.

Thanks for reminding me about that Sprung. Heard from Bryan lately? Hopefully I'm not the only GXE without them. I suspect the GLE is the same. I'm not sure if I will add them or not. My car handles pretty nice right now with my current mods. Maybe I'll look into it anyway.

Bry is officially MIA, haven't heard from him in over a month.

As for the bars, I doubt they do much that the FSTB doesn't solve, but I saw that pic tonight and finally decided to mention it.

The RSB is fantastic, I have to thank you for your accurate description of it's benefits and detailed install pics. Can't believe I waited over a year to get it! I seriously get worried sometimes that someone may try to follow me into a sweeper thinking "that Max can't handle this turn any better than me" and end up in the wall, LOL!

**If you're reading this Bryan, you must get a Stillen RSB or Paul and I will tear you up in the twisties** hehe.

well in that pic i had hyperwhites but i don't really like them...that pic was taken a long time ago...i have blue headlights (not sure what brand...came in a white box) and recently one of the headlights 2nd filament burnt out (the bright...the lowbeam still works fine so i am waiting awhile to replace them w/ japanese piaa's)...they are just standard double filament bulbs...hyperwhites are legal but i don't like them too much...after this pic i put in dark red bulbs in the front that looked bad *** ($15 per bulb) but i got pulled over for them a couple weeks ago because you can't have red in the front...i'm pissed, i was the only person that had them and a lot of people started copying that off of me.....errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...anyways, after that i put these dark blue bulbs in there which is what i have now...they look really good and you can get them from autodynamic

well my trunk and rear deck are dynomatted so it doesn't rattle as much as it used to...i think the latch on my trunk is broken or something...my friend noticed it the other day...the trunk still works fine and everything but it rattles a lot more and when you push down on the trunk (w/ bass off) it makes this noise like the trunk should be a little bit closer to the body of the car...i'll have to have that checked...you don't really hear much rattling from the inside of the car so it sounds really good...from the outside it doesn't sound great but thats what you get when you have a lot of bass (146dB)

Gotta' love a large box in an even larger trunk...and it looks like a sealed box whick makes it even better! That Fosgate must put out a $hitload of clean power to push that kind of SPL out of 2 twelves in a sealed box.

I wonder how it would do driving a trio of W6's...

Are your signal lights different Ali? The one on the right side of the picture looks more blue than the other one.

Kev they're both blue, just one looks more b/c of the angle of the picture.

Okay so it seems the SE is the only one with them. Wonder if it makes any difference in feel or handling.

I want to know this... do the GXE's have supports in the trunk (the black metal brakcets that surround where the RSTB ring goes). Is this also SE specific?

My GXE doesn't have those front "bars" behind the grille. I have the black liner behind the rear seats. I had to remove it to get to the shock towers to lower my car.

yeah jesse, it's a factory lip...no body kit YET...i was told w3's are better than w6's and that w3's are of a newer technology...i was originally going to get w6's but was convinced by the car stereo shop (the w6's were more expensive by the way) to get w3's...i was thinking about adding 1 more but i have a lot of stuff that i would rather do first

now i am thinking about getting rid of the system since it adds over 100lbs...we'll have to see though...i'm used to the bass so no system will not be the same...i am taking it out in a week or so to see how much faster the car feels without it

My SE has the bars also.

Maybe Southpoint can look into ordering those parts for the gxe and gle owners.

From the pics Paul2kgxe posted of the AE max, I don't see any bars either.

At maxus '99 that was one of the things Wizeguy noticed new on my car when we took a closer look at it.

I bet if we took it off we prolly would notice any difference. Or why wouldn't they include them on the AE max?
