probs with my 2k maxima

For a couple weeks not my maxima has been running like sh*t. When I start the car, it makes a struggling noise. In either park or in gear, the car jumps back and fourth for a couple of times, then stops, and starts again. After the car has warmed up, I can cruise o.k. but if I floor it, the RPM shoots up, and car doesn't go. At first it sounded like a tranny problem, but I've had people check it up and they said it wasn't.

For the past month or so I've been putting in the lowest quality gas because I was planning on getting rid of the car and thought "no one would ever know...." I'm thinking this might have something to do with it. Now I have been putting in the recomended gas - for 2 or 3 weeks - and I've seen some gradual improvment.

Has anyone experienced this problem before? Is there anything I can put into my gas tank that might help clean out some of that bad stuff? Any kind of feedback I would appreciate very much..

I don't know if lower octane gas would cause those problems, but why don't you just take it to the dealer? I ask because something doesn't sound too good.

If it's the gas, maybe some octane booster?
