Stillen Has RACEPIPES (YPIPES) Being Sold Now For 2k2s!
From Adam at Stillen!!!!!! This was mainly for the Altima but should fit the Maximas!
I didn't have these numbers when I passed the pic to Mike yesterday - but I do
now...
The exact horsepower increase in our test was 8 hp @ the wheels. This equates
to about 13 BHP/Flywheel HP.
This bolt on will replace 2 of the pre-cats. I'll see if I can get an undercar photo
for you guys so you can see what I mean.
Like others have mentioned - these pipes have been an awesome upgrade on the
Maxima's from 95-2001 for years.
This is an "offroad" part and is not legal in CA. It DOES have all existing sensor
location mounts. It may actually pass with the main-cat in place? - But is still
considered an "offroad" component regardless.(legal crap you know)
I have the racepipes in stock and shipping daily as of yesterday.
As always, enjoy the ride and call me if you need anything!

This is also for the Altima. Does anyone know if this part of the exhaust is different?
I'll probably look into a RT cat and wait to see how WSP or others do. Maybe if the diameter is increased the gains might be better but you would have to replace the whole exhaust and get a new cat any way because of the flanges.
My wife’s cousin works at a junkyard and with the traffic here in Atlanta it won't be long till there is 1 in the lot, hope it's not mine lol, I should be able to pick the pipe up pretty cheap and get the precats cut out myself. That way I can go back to stock if I need to. As of this year all emissions tests are done with the OBD2 in Georgia and several other states. It won't be long till it's that way everywhere.

For the money their going to charge you could get an RT main cat and if the pre's aren't bolt in get them cut out for less than Stillen oops I mean Stealin is going to charge and get more HP.

It would be interesting to see how many Y-piper's have had problems with the tests. I don't care about those who live where they don't test, but those who live in major urban areas with tighter emissions laws.

Is there something different about the ECU or sensors in that regard for the 02?
Also Stillen did say that there would be a "Header & Race Pipe" combo. If it's not a larger diameter I'd like to get the headers and do my own y-pipe mods.
Anyway I think it's still better to play the waiting game.

SES Light
Unless something has changed in the design of the 2K2, you WILL throw an SES light if you gut or remove the front pre-cat. The only way around this is to mount the O2 sensors behind the main cat.
Moving right along . . .

I just talked to Dean at Stillen and he said the pipe only works on the altima. He told me they needed to do some minor tweaks to get it to work on the maxima. Ohh well it looks like WSP still has time to beat them to it
Nothing new on the 2002 front lip either, I guess we get no love
