Has anyone used or have American Express auto insurance? I'm thinking about switching from Mercury because Amex has similar pricing and easier payment schedules, but I don't know anyone who's had any experience (good or bad) with them.

 

I'm an Insurance Agent for Geico. I have heard some bad things about Claims handling, but other than that nothing good or bad.

 

Thanks.. I guess I'll end up sticking with Mercury. Their ratings with the state are pretty good. At the time of the ratings (1998), Amex doesn't have enough business in Cali for them to even be ranked. Unfortunately Mercury only lets you pay every 2 months whereas Amex will let u pay monthly. ...just trying to keep the cashflow steady through the holidays But ultimately I want an insurance company I can depend on if I need them.
