Should I get a loaner car for Transverse link work?

Okay, I got the letter from Nissan Canada about the transverse link problem and today I phoned my dealer to book my appointment. They made the appointment on July 5th and they said it'll take 3-4 hours or more. When I asked if I could get a loaner car they said no, even though I have an Nissan extended warranty. This doesn't make sense to me. Am I suppose to get a loaner car from them? Thanks,

Nathan

Even if you have an extended warranty they can't give you a loaner car while they fix your car. Remember, its no Infiniti. The only way you can get a loaner is if your car has to stay over night.

Read your extended warranty contract carefully. I think they should give you a loaner.
When I did brake judder TSB dealer refused to give me a loaner so I just rented one and complained to Nissan. Nissan gave me a refund.

It depends on the dealership and also Nissan. I know that 90% of people with TSB problems don't get a loaner.

Easy Answer, No. A Ride to work or home yes, but unless your extended covers your rental, good luck. It should take them only an hr or so to do the recall. My dealer did it in 40 min.

Thanks for clearing things up guys. My dealer said the job will only take 1-2 hours but they only have 2 bays so they are quite busy everyday.

Actually, with the NISSAN extended warranty, anytime you car needs to be serviced (ie recall performed) you do get a free loaner vehicle. When I had mine done last week, I had a loaner and it was only for a few hours. In fact when I have had them perform oil changes, I received a free loaner. My time is way to valuable to be spent waiting a couple hours for them to finish a job that shouldn't have needed to be performed in the first place. You bought the extended warranty take advantage of it, demand the loaner car, and you will get it.

My Nissan dealer gave me a loaner on my car when I had it in, of course the reason for it being in was the tranny being replaced at 500 miles...I think they would have done anything to keep me happy after that incident (I was ****ed when they were like "well, Nissan policy is to give you a rebuilt transmission, but we're going to get you a new one instead")

Heads would have rolled if they put a rebuilt transmission in the car...it was bad enough that it was bad from day 1
