mechanical wise they do fit. Its the same exact engine and suspension. I was going to get an I35, but it was to much $$$.

the i35 is just an upgraded luxury version of the max. but most everything is exactly the same as far as the suspesion and engine/trans goes, except the i35 is auto only. atleast i think they only come in auto. anyway stuff like the reat lights, the clear corners wont fit, they are diff.

Realistically, the US Maxima is a stripped version of the I35 (Which is technically the *real* Maxima)

I can attest to most of what's been said here. I have a 5th Gen Max FSTB and it fits fine. If you look at the underhood of the Max and the I35 they're virtually identical, so really any kind of performance mods from the Max will fit the I35. But like the others said, the cosmetic mods most likely won't work at all.

I30/I35, sweet car. Not jealous of the car, just jealous of your dealer service.

I don't understand why they quit making the I30/35 in a manual transmission. Actually I understand why, I just don't like it. I know they sure did not sell a lot of them. Only 3% in 96 were 5-speeds. Some how I luckily found my car. I think the 5-speed I30t is even more of a sleeper than the Max SE.

Is it possible to switch the backend of the Max to the I35? I would guess it would just involve replacing the taillights, back bumper, trunk, and 2 rear fenders. Besides the $$ aspect, I wonder if it's just that "easy?"

I've been wondering the same thing. I like the Max's front end but the I's back end.
