Berk Tuning Midpipes - READ.....

The final testing and fitment issues have been worked out on the 2000-01 midpipes, the 2002's were completed some time ago. ETA for the midpipes are 1 month. I will have a pre-order special on these, as you all expect, I will be offering one of my crazy low a$$ prices on these.

These will be made out of polished 6061 aluminum and will have a bright chrome like surface. The connecting hoses will probably be Purosol braided hi temp silicone hose (like I use on my LE kit). Hose does not get any better than this. It is kind of overkill for this application so I may use non braided hi temp silicone, well see what works best for the consumer.

Driving Impressions: Not as loud as I expected, but it is definately louder than the standard intake kit. You can feel a good increase in power throughout the RPM band. For those of you who don't mind the louder roar of the intake, this is for you.

Hi Bryan --

I assume your mid-pipe will include the necessary mounting hardware. Will you be using the same bracket design as Frankencar uses? The reason I ask is because Frankencar's bracket design "may" increase the risk of MAF sensor failure by exposing the MAF meter to increased vibration.

I want to wait for the Berk Mid-pipe...and show my loyalty since you have given us such good deals. What time frame do you envision for getting these ready for sale? I am for the braided hoses...they will look sweet in our engine bay

I am also curious about the mounting braked that was referred to above....

few ???

1. pardon my ignorance but why is a hose supplied with the midpipe? shouldn't we already have this hose?

2. Please provide pics as soon as possible. as someone above said... oooooh chroooome!

3. If possible, could you post a sound clip with the regular berk intake as well as the berk + midpipe.

1. The connecting hoses, they're 3" sections 3" long.
2. The prototype is hiddeous, because of all of the welds and re-welds and the non-finished metal. If you have my intake, you'll know that peices are first rate, made by professionals, not in a garage.
3. I have no way of making sound clips

From what I've heard they say that it is VERY loud compared to my standard intake. When I had my intake vs. this new one, it was only marginally louder.

I looked at the Franken car bracket and it seems too flimsy to support an intake. It is similar, but I'll be using much thicker metal (304 stainless of course!) so that it won't vibrate as much as a weaker part would.

the metal is more then thick enough to support an intake, the intake will support itself withouth one even, i had mine on for 2 months, no problems with no bracket, the bracket is more for piece of mind.
