2k2 6 speed and heat..........................

Anyone with a 2k2 6 speed find it harder to get in gear now that the temperatures have risen? Seems like from 88+ the shifter is hard to get in gear. Anything lower and it shifts like it use too.

Given how bad I ran at the track in the heat last week, I won't even go there.

here in the bay area (northern ca) we've had several days of 90+ and I have not noticed any change in the shifter.

It was over 100 here in Albuquerque for a few days and has been in the upper 90's all month. I notice my shifting is a little tighter when its hot as well, but I still have a ways to go before the tranny is broken in, so hopefully it will smooth out.

Intresting?!.

I'm up to 10,000 miles on my baby so it is plenty broken in. I guess synthetic tranny oil is my next step. Were was that link to show how to do it yourself change the tranny fluid?

Thanks

It could be.....

the delrin ball that is used as the pivot point for the shifter, might be expanding in the heat.

The max thermostat said 102 and no difference in shifting.

I'm the same as Newman - with the summer heat, it seems like my shifter is smoother. I have 5500 miles on my car and perhaps it's more of the shifter breaking in than the heat.
