Ohhh, Amsoil is the bestest oil in the world...

 

I'm personally a fan of Redline. Can anyone tell me what makes one better/worse than the other or are they pretty much equivalent to one another?

 

Running AMSOIL 0-W30 in 5 family cars for about the last 11 months.
No oil leaks and not using oil. They run fine.

Probably 85 to 90% done. The sheet's been re-done with some significant changes. Plus, I'm still waiting on a couple of more sample results......

 

Redline is an excellent product. It is an ester based oil vs. a PAO based oil like Amsoil. Redline was originally a racing oil and then came to the street. Ester is best for extreme heat like racing, street rodding, turboes, nitrous, et al.

Redline is not ideal for extended drains like Amsoil because it is not formulated that way. Don't get me wrong. It is of the highest quality. You cannot go as far or long and Redline costs $2.00+ more a quart.

If you do the math, Amsoil and the SDF filter are the best value. Full disclosure. I am not an Amsoil dealer just a preferred customer.

I agree. Redline is an excellent oil. Besides the base stocks, the big difference is in the philosophy of the companies. Since Redline is slanted more towards the racing crowd, they lean towards maximum performance at all costs. Amsoil leans more towards anti-wear and longevity as well as increased performance. If I had a dedicated track car that I was competing with, I'd probably use Redline, in a daily driver or street driven vehicle, I prefer the Amsoil philosophy.
