Time to say goodbye

Well, after 6 months of contemplating cars, I made a rash decision from a call of the local used BMW dealer. The papers were signed today and I am the proud new owner of a 97 Black on Black 5-speed M3 Coupe. How will I fare against a 2K2 Max? I learned a ton from this forum so thanks everyone for previous discussions. The first mod will be an intake, and I guess there are chips available that actually make a difference. 10-15 HP gain, but to keep it for 100K with that mod may cause problems.

Hope to see some of you at a stoplight so we can each write in our respective forums what happened.

Have fun bro.

Ey man, have a lot of fun with the M3, I am constantly driving those around, while not driving my 6spd Max, because I work at The BMW Store, and they are a lot of fun to drive. Mod the sh*t out of it, and have fun. Good luck!!

I will defend the MAX, especially on the BMW forum. The Max still has to be one of the fastest FWD cars around, especially for the money. Hope to get a chance to get one. It would be close if the launch was not a factor. As for launching, RWD and LSD is hard to beat. Unless there is AWD involved. HMMMMMmm, a potential mod?

Good luck with your M..I hope it was a certified pre-owned. If you want an intake let me know, I just sold my 97 328i for a Max and I have some leftovers like a SuperSprint exhaust and a Bavarian Autosport Intake with Heatshield. I also have Millie Miglian rims and Potenza RE730 tires off my 3 series. All of this stuff should fit you fine..

AudioMan nice choice of car. Have Fun. I myself will be leaving the maxima community as well after winter comes through. Looking at G35 or X-Type, Jetta VR6, IS300, or some car in that class... Maybe Acura TL Type S
