I've had my rsb for 2 weeks now and today was the first time that
I drove with it AND with a full load of ADULT passengers
it was a horrible and horrendous event and I am never carrying more than myself and ONE other passenger ever again.
EVERY single damn nook and cranny and bump and dip made the rsb scrape
and scrape
and scrape
and scrape
I actually stopped and pulled over cause I thought I was driving with a friggin flat. AND YES i already had the rsb adjusted once because of the scraping over speed bumps and it has been fine for 4 days
but a full load of passengers was just horrible....
anyone else have this problem

{raises hand} I do.
I still haven't had the chance to slide one of the brackets over. This happens to me all the time, it's even worse now with the Maxspeeds. Some peeps here say that it goes away if you make the adjustment but some say it happens anyway. I've learned to live with it. At least it doesn't happen when I'm alone or with one other person. You gotta admit, the RSB is nice regardless...

My question is what does having the car
loaded or unloaded have to do with this??
If you recall or ca visuallize how the bar is mounted, it's attached to the unsprung part of the suspension: it attaches to the trailing arms and to the cross-beam axle itself, which moves up and down with the bumps.
Put another way, the distance/clearance between the bar and the road should not change with bumps because the axle which the bar is attached to is moving as well, maintaining the same road-to-bar clearance save for any small reduction due to tire sidewall flexing.
If you had a flat so that the distance between the centerline of the wheels (hence the axle) and the road changed, yes...I could see where the bar could hit the ground but...why would it hit the ground otherwise? What am I missing?

Not at all on my Max...
I drove to Whistler, 4 hours or so, with four adult passengers and a trunk full of luggage and didn't get one scrape on the whole drive. Car was practically bottomed out on the back end, but the RSB did not scrape.

Nothing actually hits the ground. One of the brackets hits something ( I gotta search for this now) so you have to slide it away from the bend.

i haven't even put my maxspeeds on so I know it would do it more with a full load of passengers once I do (sniff sniff)
i'd rather have the rsb than a full load any damn day
someone else is just gonna have to drive to lunch from now on!!!

Check out this link, especially the last part. Matt has a photo and write-up of what part hits what and what to do inorder to avoid that.
It should help you out a bit.

I have had a total of 6 people in the car at once, drove for 10+ miles, and had no such experience. I too have Maxspeeds. What size wheels do you have Thick...? ... I think you need 17's, or more..

I got the Stillen RSB too. Now I'm thinking it was worth the extra cost.

There's something about jacks that scares me. It already happened to a friend of mine once when the jack gave in. Fortunately he wasn't harmed.

Sorry Mike, I'm going to install mine this weekend using jack stands. If you're on a flat enough surface, block one wheel on both sides, and use at least two jack stands, it should be safe. If you need help, we could have an RSB-install party. Ha!

Well, the oil leak was fixed, now I'm trying to get reimbursed for the faulty install.
Honestly my car isn't very fast, since I haven't done any exhaust work and I'm using the stock pulley. We could try just to see though. As for a place to race, maybe we can find a street somewhere.

ebrake relocation? is that just specific to the Stillen? anyway, good thing you've got the prob fixed and that it was the installers fault
