Newbie getting new wheels, will this work?
Newbie getting new wheels, will this work?
I don't know much about all the different sizes and all. I've searched and searched and now my brain hurts trying to put this all together. I'm getting Sumitomo HRTz 2 tires and Konig Rated R rims(white finish). I know the tires are fine, but will these rims fit with no problem? These numbers under the picture on discounttiredirect.com are confusing. Can someone translate?
18x7.5 5-100/114 45W
Thanks

7.5 inch width
5 bolts
100/114 mm diameter bolt circles (we use 114 mm = 4.5 inches)
45 mm offset (same as stock 17" SE rims)
My 7.5 inch wide rims are 42 mm offset. Do they have smaller offsets available for that rim? 45 could still fit, the .5 inch increase in width would be split between the inner and outer edges of the rims equally. the inner edge would get .25 inches closer to your suspension components and the outer edge would get .25 inches closer to the edges of the wheelwells.
can someone confirm these will fit?
what sizes are your current wheels and tires?
what tire size are you planning to buy? 235/40-18?

Thanks all for the help.
My current setup on my 2000 SE is stock 17's.
I plan on buying 235/40-18's.
So you think I need a smaller offset? I'll see if they have any smaller than 45.

i got 18x8" rims with an offset of 35mm i'm real happy wiht the looks but i wouldnt' mind if the off set in the rear was pushed out even further. i have no fitment issues at all nothign rubs against nothing, my tire size is 235/40-18 next week i'll be slapping on some s03's 245/40-18 i'm no worried about it changing my over all diameter because it's barely off. i would suggest you get a rim width of 8 and above, taht way when u want to stick wider tires on the future you can.. the 7" to 7.5" are for cars like accords that usually can't fit wider tires.. our cars can handle up to 265's without any rubbing problems. there is a maxima that was featured on turbo magazine a long time ago that had 275/30-19 that only rubbed in the front, they downsized to 265/35-19 with no more rubbing.. wheel spacers would help, but i personally don't like running wheel spacers on my car. so if you wanna do it right, get the right rim the first time.
4 Lug or 5 Lug?
I've purchased my tires now. Sumitomo HTR Z II 235/40/18. Still confused to the rims though. I'm wanting the Konig Rated R's (white). On discounttiredirect.com, they list the Konigs as 5 Lugs. But I saw a way cheaper price on Ebay, but only 4 Lugs. I've searched and am tired of reading so much. Can someone help me? What do I need? Thanks, everyone.

Re: Re: Re: 4 Lug or 5 Lug?
That sounds like a decent price. And yeah, I've got my heart set on white. But does anyone know if it matters if it's a 4 Lug or 5 Lug? Common sense would tell me that only 5 Lugs fit, so would the 4 Lug (with the nice price on eBay) be out of the question?
