FS 2004 Maxima SE Transmission Valve Body
I have an almost new 2004 Nissan Maxima Transmission Valve Body (Less than 2500 miles on it).
Valve body is for the RE5F22A (AW55-50SN) 5 SPD Auto Transmission
Cost New: $900.00
Price: $525.00 Shipped within the US (firm)
Google the prices for these Valve bodies, Great price!!!
History:
I purchased this valve body brand new in 2008 (updated version from the original 2004) during my transmission rebuild. My Original Valve body I sent off to Level 10 transmission for a racing upgrade/rebuild since my car is Turbo so once it was complete (less than 2,500 mile later) I had the new valve body removed and the rebuilt one put on. I always kept the new one for a spare but it's not necassary, it's in perfect working and new condition when removed so I'm offering it up for sale at my loss.
My transaction feedback and membership is flawless on this and other forums.
Valve body is packed in original Nissan Transmission Fluid and shipping box.

If you have the issues with the hards shifts that require a Transgo rebuild or a new valve body than YES. If you have gears that are shot than Yes and No. No it won't fix the shot gears, Yes it was most likely your valve body that caused the problem in the first place!

i have an 04 max that slips only after warmed up and im getting off the interstate from 3rd to 2nd after a long trip. It also sometimes shifts hard into gear but not always. Does this mean that I have a worn valve body or that it needs the transgo shift kit?
Thanks,

The hard shifts, banging have been a result of valve bodies going bad and so far the transgo shift kit, a new valve body, or the Level 10 rebuild (most expensive) are the only 3 known fixes. Without me driving your car I cannot give you a 100% accurate assessment! That can only come from a certified transmission specialist. And if he says it's your valve body, that's the almost new part I'm selling at a great price!

You guys rebuilt mine, AWESOME fix but then again I'm boosted and I had a spare, most members do not have a spare which means from removal, modification, to return their rides are down!

I know the part number for my valve body is #31705, not sure about the 8Y00B but my transmission serial numbers all have 8Y00*** end numbers.
Valve Body Fits 04-06 5spd AT [B 01]

My brother-in-law was having hard shifting issues in his '04 maxima SE. It seemed that every gear, about, was shifting hard after it warmed up a bit (I took video driving around that I'll post on youtube). That told me that tolerances were getting tight as components expanded. I went the way of the Transgo kit, mostly for the solenoid end caps. $100 is a little much for 3 small metal caps and a coupla drill bits, but it's better than the $700, then $3,000 alternatives. More comes with the kit. But, were not necessary to fix the problem. I found that one of the solenoids, the line pressure solenoid specifically, was sticking. When I took it apart, it had the spring compressed. Bingo. At this point the valve body was still on the car. So, I cleaned up the rest of the solenoids, put it all back together, and all is well! No more shifty bangy bangy.
I thought you would be interested to hear something that worked. Most threads would list problems, but no one returned with solutions. You need a few extra tools, like a bench grinder and a torque wrench. And, some mechanic ability. It took a couple of days to get through it. But, I had nothing to go by and I'm very careful. If you have any questions. I'm happy to answer. All the best.

I've read all about the isuue and I'm willing to pay the $845 for the OEM part and pay my mechanic $200 to put it on. However, I was wondering if I could just have the mechanic fix the stuck solenoids like snovak did. How did you fix the stuck solenoid in yours? Does the transgo kit come with a new solenoid, or does it come with instructions on how to unstick it?
I am new to this forum . I have the same problem like most of you here with my 04 maxima VB. It failed the vehivcle inspection test. The fault code shows PO780 -shift malfunction and PO797 pressure control solenoid "c" stuck on. I took it the tranny shop and he is asking $3500.00 to change the vb and said since I drove it for a while with all the probem he has to take the transmission down and see if there is any thing wrong with it. I think it is a lot of money .If any body knows any shop in the DFW area who can do the vb replacement please reply to this ..Thank you..
