Modded 6th gen?

Ok, so maybe I was upset at our new big boy. Maybe it was just an initial reaction, but after days of taking this new Maxima in, I realized that there's a lot of mod potential. Also, I determined that the future of the 6th gen rests in the hands of those seeking comfort, as well as those seeking to spend money on a new car for the sake of looks; with both not minding the supreme performance that is expected to come wrapped in muscular styling. What did I see with the new gen Altima.. dubz and lots of bling bling. That's where the new maxima is headed...at least in my neighborhood.

But for the subtle "new car modder" behold:

The old one:

The modded one:

Forgive my rusty photochopping skills (I converted to illustrator for this whole year). So the text on the 2nd pic explains everything. Styling changes can go a long LONG way. As you can see, some mild modification will make this car seem right at home. Let's hope Nissan makes a few small ones on the rear bumper mold and maybe fix the suspension and height (as those are probably the least expensive to revise possibly). It's surprising how the wheel well gap is so huge on a supposed muscular performance sedan. I believe Nissan's show version might have enough styling changes to gather a large liking.

I am personally starting to like this new Max. I just hope that come Jan 5, there won't be disappointment at the lack of an agressive front end.

I agree with you I definately see the 6th gen Maxima becoming a Bling Bling "Numba 1 Stunna!" 20" wheels, some springs and tint or no tint at all. The right paint (Majestic blue/Black leather) and that car will be the next GS300, 400/430 in my neighborhood.

That's where i'm getting at.. but this car would be nice for some mild bling blinging...

BTW, love your majestic blue max...can't wait to see this new one in that color.

Since when has a Maxima been about bling blingin'??? That's the problem in my opinion. There are a lot of cars that you can get and bling them out, but the Max was always unique (up until the 5th gen) because it looked good stock, and was not about bling blingin--you didn't have to add 20" chrome rims to make it look good, it looked good from the factory.

Also, the new Max will no doubt be well into the $30K price range, and I think a lot of us will no longer be able to afford it comfortably (unless it drops in value in a couple of years). The car doesn't look bad with slight adjustments (lowering the front is a must), but I'd be worried that the pricing on it will be very steep.

Any comments i made pertained to the maxima community in my neighborhood that is obviously not on the .org. I see 5th gens with 20"s everyday... that's all i meant.

I see your point

The max stock will look like a full size lux sport sedan. more sport than Q. It will have a presence, despite what people are saying. I think the 4th/5th gen lacked the presence needed to be class leader.

You guys ever wonder why, when a Q45, LS, 740, A8, and even the US made flagships drive by or are parked that they just stand out from the rest. There are many reasons, but for me commanding size mixed with good style always wins (in the sedan market).
