Saw New '04 Max at Theater in Murfreesboro, TN - PICS

I was visiting a friend in Murfreesboro, TN. We went to the theater, and lo and behold I see what looks like a giant Altima parked in the parking lot near the front.

I snapped some pictures with my friend's camera (I know she thinks I'm crazy) so it'll be a couple days before I can get a hold of them, but it looks the same as all the other Max pics I've seen on here. Awful lot like an overgrown Altima. I must say though, it looks a lot better in person, especially the rear end.

what color was it? It may be the same one I saw at Action Nissan a few weeks ago.

It was silver. Had 17" wheels I believe - the wheels looked identical to the ones on the 3.5 Altimas.

Nope. The one I saw was the new orange color.

There's been a lot of sightings in the TN and KY area. I had been told that there were about 30 cars out on the road since December. These were test vehicles.

I think they only have these test vehicles in your area because how many import enthusiasts can be in TN??

I dunno...come to the weekly car shows at the Cool Springs Galleria and you tell me

Seriously though, I have seen Nissans and Saturns that haven't been released yet driving around in this area - all due to the fact that the plants for them are in the area as well.

Yep -- the one I saw -- White -- was in the Cool Springs area on Saturday. After I posted, I thought it might have to do with the Management getting the cars early. After all, they will produce them here.

Thoughts?

Yeah, a lot of my friends' parents work for Saturn, and it's not unusual for the plant of assembly to produce pre-production vehicles and distribute them to be driven around.

I remember before the Saturn Ion was even announced that I saw one parked in the Linens & Things parking lot. I told my friend's dad (who works at Saturn) about it and he was surprised they were out that early.

Oddly enough... the number is EXACTLY the same as the number of smart-a$$ 17-year-olds in New Jersey!

p.s.-- I'm in Clarksville, Tn, and I've seen a silver one rolling around here too.

I finally got the pics uploaded guys, it was dark and I couldn't figure out how to get the camera to work right, so they're not great, but they're there.

I personally think that this car is ugly and that it has too much of a plastic look to it. the back looks okay, but as for the design, I am going to rank it next to the pontiac aztec...I am gonna stick with my 2k2 Max!

I like it! It's just the grille that needs to go.

I think nissan is going to use this type of grille on future models because look at the Maxima and the Quest..same grille

Yea, You are right about future grill usage, but still the 04 maxima needs to lose some weight....

All the pictures I've seen make it look pretty ugly, but seeing it in person changed my opinion of it. I think my reaction was a lot like the M45, pictures made it look horrible, but in person it doesn't look that bad.

I must say though, I really like the rear end on the new Maxima.

I wouldn't go as far as to say the M45 looked horrible in pictures, because it's on the same platform as the Cedric and the Gloria which are some really nice looking automobiles. In person the M45 looks amazing. The 04 Max looks terrible in all the pics i've seen on here, but i'll give it a chance and see what it looks like in person.

This is probably due to the fact that the new Maxes are going to be produced at the Nissan plant in Tennessee if I'm not mistaken.

They could be. My quick glance thought they looked awfully 3.5 Altima-ish, but now that I hear the Maxima is coming with 18 inch wheels, then the Altima wheel idea is most certainly not the case.

Saw a red one today

Actually it was crimson. At Home Depot Expo across from 100 Oaks Mall. Was an SE with 18's, had cloth interior and was an auto. I don't care too much for the front but the rest of the car looked good in person. Had a dealer tag.
