well, i finally saw a 2004 in person...
...at the Canadian International Auto Show, and I have to tell ya,
it looks MUCH nicer in person versus pics...BUT, i was most blown
away by Infiniti --> Nissan's beautiful cousin
Pics do not
do any justice to the Infiniti line...In pics I thought the interior
was cheesy (psuedo-futuristic a la 1988 300 ZX), but it is TOP GRADE
in person.
anyhow, my $0.02,

saw a 2004 in person...
i saw two of them for sale at a nissan dealership in glendale, ca. yes, it is not as ugly in person. it has some cool features like the sunroof on the SE. the car is not that bad. but it has lost for me the sporty sedan image of the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th gens. the 5th gen is ok, but had gotten too fat looking. still now, i waver between which is cooler looking - the 4th or 5th gen SE. both have pros and cons. the 3rd gen wins for overall looks for me. anyway, the newest one, the 6th, is just too fat and no longer interesting to me. it is now competing for an entirely different market.

i'm here. there is an aftermarket replacement grille for the 6th gen. i think you can get it on trenz.com or something. there's a recent thread about it. the grille alone can enhance or dehance the 6th gen. there is hope yet.

In person
I have to agree with Flo Boy....looks much nicer in person. On paper I really wasn't too excited about it, but after seeing a couple in person, it looks pretty good. Still need to do something about the grill. Best colors I've seen have been black or white.
