With 265hp and 255 torque and added 100-200 lbs over the 5th gen's shouldnt acceleration times be similar to that of the 2k2-2k3's

The SL I drove last night is about on par with my 03 when it had 400 mils on it. I think it will be a toss up and depending on who gets out the hole the best etc.

I think the performance will be on par with the 2002-03. The 2004 will feel more refined though. I like the solid build of the interior over my 2002 Maxima though. The SL has the suede, leather, wood and brush aluminum. What materials are in the SE I did get a chance to look inside?

I've calculated that if 265HP really is 265HP this time around, then the new Maxima should be just as fast as the 02/03's. The 02/03's were really more like 240HP, not 255, so the extra "25HP" should offset the difference, if it's real.
