Ok the 6th gens are growing on me

I love the look. I took a parking space in the back of walmart just to park next to it to see how far the maximas have came from my square 88 maxima to the 2004s. Today a 2004 owner and myself were driving next to each other admiring each others maxima. I saw a black one very nice. Im worried about the rears of the cars. They look like they are going to have a tendency to slouch in the back over time. Love the dual mufflers though.

yeah i was driving next to one exactly like mine the other day and it looks very nice with tinted windows. don't worry about the rears the rear is very strong - i love the independent rear suspensions. i love how the mufflers painted in black to prevent rusting and the chrome tips are a beauty..people look at the mufflers alone and they like wow! this car looks like it gets lots of power.....and then i would say hell yah 265 and they like what?

Yeah majority of the time what attracted me to the rear was the Painted black mufflers with the chrome tips. Nice rear setting the front may need some work but only in pictures I think its ugly. In person its a whole different story. I guess I like it too because it looks like it was 350Z influenced by design too.

Zaino is the way to go. It takes a bit of effort(and it's not cheap), but the results are outstanding.

Maximas never looked bad. Honestly now I think Maximas have the biggest lead in styling ever over the Accord, Camry, and rivals. I'd say the pendulum swung over to Honda in the mid to late 80s ('86-'89 Accord with its sporty flip up headlamps, may look nerdy now but then it was neat). Then Toyota's '92-'96 Camry looked the best with its upscale look. Now the Maxima has the most cool combo of techno tough look and upscale elegance.

I disagree the 89 Maxima looked better than all of those cars and the 92 Camry looked alot like it. The Maxima has always had a more upscale look to it and always had more features than those cars. The 89 and 90 Maxima withthe electronics package probably had more features than any other Maxima.

as much as i love maximas, i still can't get the front of the 6th gen to grow on me...maybe..maybe if the made an all black grille that blended with the body (talking about a black on black) that might have a more soothing effect...it reminds me of a gm based luxury vehicle right now.

The 6th gen maximas are starting to grow on me too, but I just can't get use to the grill...And whats the deal with those hideous fog lights?

I think I'll save the $10,000 and try to get an 03, I think its a way better deal (I can't afford 30K anyway)

Are you referring to the turn lights which are all by themselves at the bottom of the grill, or the fog lights that are integreated into the main light cluster?

what the hell is going on here with all these negative stuff about the 04 maxima. The grill is nice, lots of people like it and also the headlights with the built in fog lamps is a beauty. If you don't like it, get your 03 (with the weak assz suspension/HID stolen everyday) and shut up^..i get compliments about my 04 everyday and more and more i love everything about it....

I've got the silver too with the frost leather interior. I've also gotten nothing but compliments on the looks. It really seems that the vast majority of people I've run into really love the new look.

Jake, I think some people rather than just saying "it's not my taste", will rip the car apart. After spending in the area of $30k, I think some people get a bit sensitive about remarks like this. I can understand it.

i did not say 5th gen(2000-2003), i was talking specifically of the weak suspension they put on the 2003's got it??.... it shouldn't offend you with a 2k2 anyway...i had a 2000 and a 2001 and i don't think they were trash...so what are you talking about?

uh noone said anything about suspension quality...just the fact that the car looks like "..it's been beaten on the face with a bat..."...but again, looks are subjective...you love it, i dont...the polls also say quite a few people think it's "un-cute".

oh and btw, the picture sprintmax put up on this post is enough to make me go out and get one now. That is a sweet and unique body colored grilled. 5 thumbs and toes up.
