Keeping it clean!

Any suggestions on how to keep the dash clean? What do you guys use? I bought Armorall Leather Wipes for the seats. Didn't want to buy the vinyl wipes for the dash as I didn't want to have any glare in the windshield.

a damp rag always works, but it won't protect the vinyl. If you want the best of both. Clean it with the vinyl wipes and then use a damp rag to take the shine off.

Thanks for the reply...
So you only just use a damp rag on your dash?

Very nice looking car, by the way!!!!!

Just a damp rag for me.... I personally don't like the shiney look left by the vinyl wipes.

I used some vinyl wipes today to see what it would looks like, and there was super glare. I got most of it off, but still some glare. I didn't notice any glare before, but I am sure it was there because I can see it around the edges, but I think the light dash keeps the middle glare free

Too bad the sh*ty touchless car wash didn't get any of the bugs off the front

I've used Vinylex on the dash, actually all the plastic/vinyl trim. It, too, can leave a gloss if you go over it repeatedly. I wipe with a dry cloth to eliminate excess and glare.

Anybody had a need to clean the suede door panel inserts yet? Those concern me!

Touchless car wash.... Is that the carwash where they use nothing but high powered sprays and your car still comes out dirty???

The sides came out clean, but they were already clean... I meant to wash it before I went, but I forgot. We have really hard water and I don't have a faucet that I can hook a hose to off the water softener. Ooooh, I could use the one for the washer, I am sure the wife will love that

Hard water = bad water marks

I actually use the touchless carwash extensively in the winter months when temp below freezing! The one I use actually does a pretty darn good job, certainly not like washing by hand, but the only option in the winter.

When temp above freezing.. its only hand washes for me... and I will NEVER take my car to a regular automatic carwash.

Actually, that is what I would use during the next winter. And like you, I would never use an automatic carwash!

Touchless is the way to go, but I guess I will have to hand wash it from now on, and only go to the touchless if I have water marks.

Well, you can't beat leather anywhere or anytime, but I really do like the look and texture of the suede. It is different, good different. Our 1986 Buick Riviera had a felt/suedish kind of interior material and I really liked it then. Good to have something different...I just hope it stays that way.

Two words: Dash Cover

You'll never have to worry about glare or sun damage.

I use the wipes, but the "cleaner" version. I don't get a gloss. My cloth interior is black and I haven't had to clean it, except for lint. For that, I simply use a lint brush...works great. Tough Stuff has worked for me w/ my previous Altima. I don't use the automatic washes, only by hand. I may try to dash sponge as suggested.

Ok, so the idea of running a hose off the washing machine faucet was a huge blunder. I was so worried about leaking water all over the house... and I did Spent about an hour shop vacing water off my tile.... whoops, damn cheap a$$ hose.

Looks like I will have to try to put a faucet on the water softener... this ought to be good

No, I was just using the washing machine hookup (cold water) because we have really hard water out here so I wanted to tap in after the water softener, and that was the only place to do it. The faucets outside are not treated by the water softener.

I just need to figure out how to add one in the garage. I will probably do it this week, or next weekend.
