Jack Rabbit Starts

I am really enjoying my new Maxima. One thing that I find I am less happy with is that the car wants to do jack rabbit start. It takes effort to have a nice controlled smooth start. I either have to make an effort and have a slow start, or jolt to a start. Is this something the dealer could adjust? Thought I would ask a dumb question here rather than at the dealer.

I believe that the 04's use throttle-by-wire, mine is kinda squirrly<sp> too. I would think that the response curve would be adjustable, but, having said that, it probably is not...just like adjusting to a heavy clutch me thinks...will get better...

What kind of transmission do you have? I have a 6-speed and it really hasn't been a problem. I can get out smoothly just fine.

I'm sorry - forgot to mention - 5 speed automatic. I like smooth starts, which I can get by being careful. Other wise it likes to spring into action with a bit of a jerk.

Maybe that is the hesitation issue that others have reported.

Our 330 has jack rabbit starts too. When I go from my 4th gen to the Bmer I find it takes me a while to adjust to the throttle response. You've really got to feather the pedal to make a smooth start.
