dumb question, what is a pop charger

I actually highly recommend this uprade. You get more power throughout the whole rev band, and you get a sweet sounding growl at higher RPM's as well... I have some pictures of my '04 SE with one installed... enjoy!

Steve, from FrankenCar dynoed his 2002 6-speed and got about 10hp gain at the wheels. Pretty good from just an intake.
I am not sure how much it will gain on 2004 Max, because the stock intake tubing is pretty straight already, compared to restricted one on 2002 Maximas.

Dany, only thing I replaced was the stock airbox... everything else is original equipment, but it runs just fine...
If I had access to a dyno, and the patience to swap out the pop charger for the stock intake, and back again, I'd do it... lol
It really does pull stronger though, and there is more torque/power throughout the whole REV range, no doubt about that!

Yes it's the same one that has been out for some time. I just went to my friends garage (he runs ultimatez.com) and we installed there on the spot. The pop charger itself was $100-120... I forget exactly... it's not hard to install at all, but you do need to bend the bracket to reach the right spot to tighten it down.

Yes its washable... the top isn't open... theres just more filter surface in there... to get more air in... from what I know, that style is made more for the higher output engines... I would say the '04 Maxima's engine counts as high output...
My '99 had a flat-top one (190HP stock).
