Hey guys. I just wanted to introduce myself. I'm in Long Island NY.I picked up an 04 Spirited Bronze Maxima SE w/6speed. Coming from driving nothing but domestic cars, this is definitely a highest quality machine i've owned. My previous car was a 99 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP. I look forward to sharing and learning information from this board.

I am contemplating the purchase of an '04 Maxima SE. My current vehicle is an '02 Cadillac STS with 17" wheels and touring suspension.
However, I had a '97 Grand Prix GTP for two years which was a great car except for the suspension. Very harsh (although if you want to really feel harsh, test-drive an FX with sport suspension and 20" tires) and marginal handling.
How would you compare your SE with the '99 GTP? The SE I test-drove rode and handled pretty well.
Thanks,
Bob
P.S. Speaking of quality, other than a pinched wire in the sunroof area, nothing went wrong in the Grand Prix for two years. Wish I could say that for the STS!

Welcome and congrats. The spirited bronze caught my eye from day one. I would never have thought I would like a color from the 'tan' group on a car. But this bronze is very very striking; probably the best of the eight available colors.
Being older, I am going for the SL (slightly softer ride). I have driven nothing but SEs before, but I have retired, slowed down, and my racing days are over.

Thanks for the warm welcome everybody. And to answer the rest of the questions,- I'm in Baldwin Long Island. - It's difficult to tell whether(stock vs. stock), the Grand Prix or Maxima was faster because the GTP was auto, and the SE is stick and I haven't gotten on it yet-but in it's most recent condition the GTP was definitely faster. I got it running 13.1's at 104 back in May, but hopefully I'll be able to get the same numbers out of my new toy.- and finally, I love this car. Its so "money"
