i just got back from a local dealer. for a 2004 max se with the driver preffered package $29,630 plus tax title reg. ect. i believe the car stripped is 24,500 the preffered pacage is 3500.00 list. i told the guy i will pay 29,630 if everything was included (tax title ect.) he said he couldn`t do that and to me the max isn`t worth over 30,000.00 any comments?

It is hard to say because I don't know what the availability is in your area. In April I paid less than this for an 04 SE w/ Driver Preferred, Power Moonroof, Mats and Splashguards.

Invoice on the car you mentioned is $28,261, if you toss in floor mats and splash guards then it is $28,452.

I think you can get them down below $29K if you work them hard enough. A lot of people are getting Invoice + a few hundred, I would start calling dealers and shop a price of $28,600 and see what you find. Tell them that another dealer is offering $28,700 and you want to give them a chance to beat it.

Good luck, keep us updated.

I agree with GMC. Anything in the invoice to invoice+$500 range would be a good deal. But, you have to add sales tax to that. Depending on what your sales tax rate is, it looks like that would put you a little over $30,000 but that would still be a good deal.
