Newbie here with new 04 SL

Just purchased a brand new Majestic Blue 3.5 SL. I never even thought about a Maxima until my wife and I test drove one today. What a great family hauler with awesome looks as well. Good power/torque with a lot of room. The only dislike was the torque steer but I can live with that. I've been looking long and hard for something to replace my problematic 2001 Ford Escape and this car fit the bill. I test drove many cars/SUV's and we definitely like the Maxima the most out of them all (price was good as well). I won't be modding this car, not familiar with its aftermarket anyway, since my 03 Cobra is my hobby car. Just thought I would say hello and start hanging around the Maxima forum for good info on my new car.

Well I've got just as you said, a Lightning pulley, Steeda cat-back (Borla), Steeda X-pipe (Magnaflow), a Densecharger cai, and an Afterburner tuner that allows me to tune the air-fuel. The car is redfire though. I have yet to take the Cobra to the strip since there aren't local dragstrips. I'm too lazy to drive the 1 1/2 hours to Richmond, at least in the summer heat. In due time though. What's the use of having the beast without using it?

Yes the Maxima is slow compared to the Cobra but it's quick in its own right. To be honest, it's no doubt one of the best cars for its price that I've driven. Way more comfortable than the Cobra with a lot more amenities. I just hope Nissan's customer service is better than Ford's. That is one of the reasons that I'm done with Ford's (Cobra aside).

I paid sticker for the Cobra which was $35,065. No money down on the Cobra but almost half down for the Maxima. The Maxima was $29,700. I believe the delership had 3 Maxima's with one having everything and it was right around $33,000. Close in price to the Cobra but two totally different cars. Obviously the Maxima comes no where near the power of the Cobra.

I've never launched an IRS equipped car at the track so I'm not expecting stellar times the first time. I would agree mph would be around 114-115. The 03 Cobra is very heavy and with my 230lb frame, it's closing in on 3900#'s!!
