Info on Hail Damaged '04 Maximas

FYI,
Last week, while trolling through my local Nissan dealers lot, I noted several new Altimas with the fake convertible roofs applied to them. I nearly puked on the spot.

A couple of nights ago, my wife and I were checking out the new Quest at the same dealership (Yeah, I know- you guys probably think it looks fugly but WE like it! Plus we need a replacement for our '97 Grand Voyager).

While chatting with the salesperson, I asked her what's the deal with the fabric roofs on the Altimas. She told me that the cars with the fake roofs were the ones damaged in that infamous hail storm a while back. She also mentioned that they had also done at least one '04 Maxima with the same treatment !

BTW, they are disclosing the facts about these cars to the buyers.

Funny thing was- she said that they had no problem selling the fake convertible roofed Altimas (and presumably the Maxima as it was no longer on the lot). Go figure
