Good price for 2004 Max SE

I found a dealer in Georgia that has several 2004 slightly hail damaged Maximas. Anyway he has one that he will let go for around $22,000. It is the SE version fully loaded except leather, it even has their new sunroof. Does this sound like a good deal? It only has 14 miles on it.

My understanding is that Nissan will not warranty a hail damaged car. So, IMO that's a lot of $$ for a vehical without coverage.

That is kind of scarey if they aren't providing a warranty for a new model which is going to have issues.

rpasley- Find out what package it is, it sounds to me like it is the base model. All of the packages above the base model have leather. Also, the maxipad sun roof is standard.

I know someone in here paid a few thousand less than what you are looking at and the dealer fixed all of the dents too.

If that is a CD Changer than it is the base model + the premium audio package which invoices at $26,049. If it is just a single CD then it is strictly the base model SE which invoices at $25,182.

IMHO, almost $23,000 is too much for a damaged Max, even if it comes with the warranty. For 3K more you could have a perfect one. If that car doesn't have the warranty or they don't fix it for you, then that is not a good deal.

There is a girl on here that got an SE for $19,000 including the dent repair. I am not sure what packages the car had.

If I had to venture a guess, I would bet the dealers got these cars for about $15-16K, but no one knows for sure.

So will Nissan provide no warranty at all on those vehicles? Or just no warranty as it applies to paint and glass?

I don't know, the first I heard of that being an issue was from Blaxima. If they don't warranty it, I wouldn't buy it at any cost since it is a first year model... way too much risk

The salesman told me that they don't come with paint warranties but that all other warranties do apply.

That sounds more reasonable (just no paint warranty). I may have been misinformed. The dealer I spoke w/ said he went down for the auction, but they decided not to bid on any because the cars would not be covered by any factory warranty. I asked: "just the body damage?" he said nothing was covered. Better to double check!

lol Well if hail dents can destroy the integrity of the vehicle so badly, I'm scared that I bought such a POS vehicle.

Hrm, voiding the warranty on the entire brand-new vehicle for hail dents? Just called my buddy at the Nissan place since they have several hail damaged vehicles still there.

He says warranty is voided only on the paint, which the warranty on the paint is only 1 yr or 12,000 miles anyways, or at least that's what he says. I'd think bumper-to-bumper would mean everything on the car for 3 yrs or 36,000 miles. I asked him why it didn't go for the entire 3 yrs, and he said "My salesmanger told me that so that's all I know." Salesmen, sheesh...

this is bs, factory-new hail damaged cars will should have full factory wtty. Only thing is you won't be able to have these dents fixed under this wtty. Len Stoler in Owings Mills, MD bought 60 hail damaged Altimas and Maximas, and even put them in showrooms. These damn salesppl are selling these cars @ invoice, but still it is a rip off.
