Nissan missed the boat with the '04 exhaust

Well, I'm still absolutely delighted with my '04 Maxima (frost white, caffe latta leather, power sunroof, etc.). But it does seem to me that Nissan could have/should have given the exhaust a bit more of a serious sound (a slight snarl, a little growl, you know what I mean). Heck, I'm 64 years old, but I still like a bit of a rumble out of a car that has all of the performance that the '04 Maximas have... And I *don't* mean that sound like "ripping canvas" like the little liter-and-a-half Hondas, Focus, & Kias have when they tear up and down my street.

Anybody done anything to liven up the exhaust note of their '04? Any good ideas?

All the best to you good folks!

Rob

I bet a universal borla muffler (well, 2 of them) would give you much more aggressive sound, and as long as you keep the rest of the exhaust stock it shouldn't be annoyingly loud.

The G35 has a more throaty sound to it. Check it out and maybe slap some of those mufflers on there

Is anyone else wondering what a full exhaust system would do power wise? Think about it, the max puts out half of the pollution of a Z, and it super quiet. A high flow cat, 3" pipes and free flowing mufflers probably would make a big difference.

I also am following this idea...Ordered a 04 and the only mods i will do is intake for sure and possibly exhaust IF dyno #s support the changes...Researched the hell out of my Z06 and am very happy with the mods and results...
