The 04 bodystyle is growing on me a lot. I see them around a lot more and I like them a little bit more everytime I see them.

You'll like it even more after a serious test drive!

I bought my Maxima without the HID's because my best friend owns a performance shop and I was going to buy a set of aftermarket HID's at cost. It's much cheaper to do it that way. However, as my luck usually goes...aftermarket HID's are now against the law. You can still get HID's from the factory and you can still buy the cheap bulbs but the aftermarket HID kits are illegal. Damn my luck, what do I do now?

I was thinking of just getting the dealer to order me the SL headlights and swap them. I dont have the HID for my SE, mainly cuz of one of the dealers gave me some false information. But either way i want them, hopefully i can get it done. It wouldnt be illegal, being they are factory right?

Correct, their legal. All factory HID's are legal, just not the after market "one size fits all" type HID. BTW, do you know how much they want for the HID kit from Nissan? Let me know.

Depends what you are looking for, I took the 04 over the G35 because of the G35's smaller interior size and strange ergonomics. I liked the rest of the car.

That doesn't seem right when 2k2-2k3 HID's are $1,200-$1,300

Did she say why she specifically traded in her G35? I drove both and only chose the Max because it's roomier, but damn, if I didn't care about room, and I already HAD a G35 I doubt I would trade it in!!

No. On certain packages that include the HIDs you can REMOVE HIDs for a $150 credit. It's a token gesture that they do to make you feel like you don't have to "spend" on the HIDs if you don't want them but it's just a reach-around. $150 is NOT their price. Some people don't like them, although why I have no frigiging idea. I love turning all the cars in front of me purple.

What is the color temp of the 04 bulbs. I was in front of one the other day and his HID's definitely had more of a blue hue than my 03. Guess it could be the reflector in the housing also....Anyone know?

aren't the 04's projectors against our 02/03 reflector lenses?

that can be a difference..

I would never trade in a g35 for a maxima. G35 is a american skyline and a 04 maxima is just the same thing as a 04 altima. Maxima uses the same platform now as the altima so basically the maxima is just aother altima.

and american skyline...a skyline isn't that cool...a GTR is of course...but a skyline is just a 4 door sedan

also on that altima comment...you are definitely getting flamed...good luck

All maximas are cool but I don't agree with nissan making that decision because a maxima is one kind of a car.

yup just confirmed it at www.hidforum.com

the blue/purple you see is the light on the rim of the projector

they use the same HIDs as us (5th genners)...4100 or 4300 in temperature color

Why Maxima over G35...different needs and/or wants.
Someone shouldn't be criticized for buying an '04 Max simply because they could have bought an Infiniti for ~same price.
The cars don't compete with each other, even though they are from the same company and similar in price.
We all know which cars the Max and G35 compete with, repspectively.
My $0.02.

Maxima Grilles and front lip

I would have to agree with you on the grille. No need to sob over that though. I found a website where you can get 3 differrent grilles and even a front lip for the '04 Max. @ http://shop.store.yahoo.com/southwes...0nimaexpr.html

This is what I've found so far but not satisfied with it all. I have to see and compare more grilles and body kits instead of just a front lip.

That's cool but from the strategic side, Maximas are more bang for your buck. Unless you can afford it. I'd be on the same wagon.

Now one thing that I'd love to see is an all wheel drive Max with turbo. This would definitely knock down many more competitors. If this is already a great car as is, imagine the upgrade! That would be my goal atleast, to set the Max above and beyond the current competittion.

Infinite Ideas, hmmmmm.
