GAB on 6th gen.. can it be done??

Ok well right now im in the process of making my own intake. Quite simple really, I bought a 3" exhaust pipe and im making a midpipe similar to frankencar and im going to paint it black. anyways I plan on running the stock airbox with a K&n and plan to do the GAB mod if possible on the 6th gen. I also plan to run a dryer hose to the front for more cold air. anyways will the GAB void the warranty? I dunno I can just see a mechanic saying " why did you cut a hole in your intake box?" then BS about it. anyways some input would be great! thanks guys

Glad to see some ones gettin ideas with the laundry hose, like me
props to you man

you can always just buy a Cone filter intake from JWT or K&n if you're afraid of warranty. and then run the laundry tube to it. lol

Just realized that many of the 5th gens do this mod and it has had GREAT results. Im not sure if I understand the porting of the Airbox, although if it could be done instead of cutting the filter holder then I would rather do that. Also, when I saw the ports and stuff they were on the airbox which has a tube running directly to the TB right? which means the ports are running air from the engine bay or from their ram air tube if they chose that route, but that air wouldnt be travelling through the filter like it would on the top cut would it? If anyone understands a word of what I just said. Let me know!!.. lol Thanks

Possibly ghetto, But the people who have done it have had the other aftermarket intakes and they said the GAB worked the best. 5th gen 6 speeds have been trapping over 100 MPH with this only mod. I dunno its just that the fastest 5th gens are running this setup.

The GAB is the best performing intake you can buy for the 5th gens. I have pics on my homepage.

Well The intake design on the 5th gen is different from the 6th gen I think. Anyways on the 5th gen I believe the airbox is sideways, where on the 6th gen the airbox has a lower section where it has 2 holes, one goes to the front of the car with a lil scoop and the other I THINK goes into the fenderwell but is there a resonator in there connected to it?? Anyways since the intake tube runs to the top and the filter in between then the bottom box, then it would be safe to port the box however I choose? Oh and uhh my splash guard got ripped off somehow! so no mounting a ram air down there. anyways if anyone could elaborate on any of this that would be cool. Im trying to put together something nice to show yall. thanks
