The dealership should take care of that no problem if its not right, you spend 30k or so on a car you expect better. If they give you a hard time threaten the a little bit it works 9 times out of 10 and start using a more customer friendly dealership afterwards that is if Nissan has any left.

I ended up adjusting the hood and trunk the day I brought my car home. Trunk was off over a 3/8 inch - when I really looked at it I first thought the entire rear bumper fascia was crooked. Doors are OK. I believe most vehicles today are not built with pride or quality. They are built for the average consumer who just doesn't give a crap and or has no clue what it really should be like... Thats why us that do complain get nowhere, we are the rarity. Like I mentioned before, I myself have owned 5 Nissan vehicles, this being my second Maxima, Nissan is in the process of loosing me as a repeat customer. It's all about quantity not quality anymore.

Good luck

Smitty

The left side of my good is about 1/8th inch off, nobody at the dealer saw it, but I did and they made a "due bill" for it. When I get my first oil change on it I might have it fixed. I am a little worried as they are going to have to bend it to fix it.

Hood, trunk, and doors are OK but have had some little problems with the interior of the car. The plastic pieces on the steering wheel where the stereo and cruise control are located are loose and misaligned. Also the plastic piece to the right of the glove box (I am 24 years old and I referred to it as a glove box...someone castrate me so I don't procreate) was loose and sticking out. I tried to push it back in a couple of times but it kept falling back out so I went ballistic on it recently and now it knows better than to mess with me again.

In reference to mattman2003 who said the dealer will not fix the problem...h*** yes they will. Now I will admit I one of those people who grab their ankles instead of confronting someone (when the waitress brings Manhattan Clam Chowder instead of New England I just move on with my life), but when you spend 30K on a car, which by the way is more expensive than 90% of the cars on the road, they are sure as h*** going to fix that problem. Here's what you do. Make signs, go to a sporting goods store and buy a tent, and plant yourself right outside the dealership. Hey, enough people protested the war, I think you have the right to protest being screwed by Nissan.

Nissan Service as a general rule SUCKS so yes you are correct persistence is usually necessary.

Not only that but most companies see suppliers as a problem and not an asset. So they squeeze them to make things cheaper and they come out like crap.
