Hail damaged Maximas: How much did you pay?

Since I'm Jonesing for a new Maxima, I've been waiting for some type of factory incentive on the cars but my local dealerships have been "hounding" me to buy now. One of the dealerships called me and told me they have a hail damaged car they'd like me to make an offer on. Although I have read the other posts concerning this subject, I thought I might be able to get a more consolidated response. Hence, I was hoping that those of you that had purchased one of these cars can tell me what you paid for them. The window sticker clearly indicates that the paint warranty will be voided and that I must sign a statement acknowledging this fact. With today's paint processes, I'm not sure that I need that warranty since something happening to the paint should be slim to none. I'm just a working man trying to get the car he loves for the least amount of mony. Maybe if I can get some examples along with dealerships that sold for specfic prices......I can motivate my local dealership to see things my way. If any of you can supply me with total cost along with options included on your specific hail damaged 04....I'd appreciate it. Thanks

There was a girl who bought one for 17K fixed (I think that was the cost, look through the other hail damaged threads), that is as low as I have seen them.

I would think carefully before buying a hail-damaged 04 with any damage to the roof. Yes, paintless dent removal can work wonders, but if the roof is damaged, they will have to remove the headliner to fix it and perhaps, fool around with the head curtain air bags. Your life or that of someone else may some day depend upon the proper deployment of these bags. I personally would not want someone who is only an expert in dent removal fooling around in there.

Guys does anyone here enjoy sloppy seconds? I think if you really want a new maxima and need to save money it would be better to buy one with a base package like driver preferred brand new no storm damage. If you negotiate properly you can save yourself a few bucks. I seriously doubt that you would find to many elite level maximas with the hail damage....Trust me i have been waiting for my new black on black elite se for a while. If you are hell bent on the maxima and cant afford the extra couple of thousand then just wait a bit. patience is very important with nissan.

by the way i think dealers get them at about 4 thousand below their real price. they turn around and fix them for about 2000 and either pass the rest on or wack it up with you.

Thanks....I agree that patience is probably the key. Only 3 weeks ago it was 1.9 for Altimas...now it's 0.9. I'm sure that soon, Nissan will offer incentives on the Maxima. Plus maybe they will fix the little problems they have been having as mentioned on the other posts. However, if anyone hears of a hail damaged elite packaged Maxima....please let me know.

Thanks. In looking at the site, I can see they have the stock number designated with an H NHXXXXX vice NXXXXX. So they are asking 35 grand for that car.........How are these people to deal with? I mean, 35 grand is the MSRP.

bigcozz, they are getting a lot more than that off them, or atleast some of them. Someone paid well under MSRP, I think 5K - 8K under, and they fixed it for her. There is a thread on here some where about it

Yea, I tried to find that exact thread but couldn't. I just wish it was local so I could get a visual on the damage.

Here is the thread, and 19K fixed is what she paid.

Thanks gmc74. Team Nissan of Marietta. That's what I was looking for. Only now I'm gun shy about picking one up with all the shimmy problems of the 04's. I wonder if they'd let me walk one through the factory. The prudent thing would be to wait untill next summer to get one so they can fix the problems......but as in all boy toys.....I NEED ONE NOW lol. I'm looking for someone I know who lives up in Ohio so they can eyeball one for me....no luck though as I don't want to impose on anyone at this site. Anyway, thanks for the link, I must not have read it carfully enough when I went through it the first time. Thanks again

Hi, this is my first post. I just came back from the dealership in Orlando Fl and I (on Saturday) just bought a 2004 Nissan Maxima. I paid $27,400 for the car. The list price was 32K. I had them put in writing to fix the dents and re-detail it. I am happy with the purchase. I did have to sign a wavier for the warrenty on the paint. I can tell you I have looked around for quite a while and this is by far the best deal I could find. I even went back to my old dealership in Ocala Fl and they could not touch it. I hope this helps.

I bought my Maxima '04 at Team Nissan Marietta for $25k flat.
They fixed it for $1600 and i can't complain.
Also, my Maxima is the SE Model w/leather, spoiler, Xenon, all power options, heated seats, heated steering wheel, etc.

I love my ride !

My 2 cents.
