Going from 17 inch to 18 Inch
Going from 17 inch to 18 Inch
I have a question. Can you go from the stock 17 inch rims on a 2004 nissan maxima to a low profile 18 inch rims without recalibrating the speedometer? Anyone have good places to go for rims and tires in the central florida area? Thanks so much. I have a 2004 Maxima SL.

just make sure you get the right tire size

put in your stock tire size and it will tell you what size 18's will make your speed accurate or off

I'd just get a nice set of lightweight 17" rims instead.
The 04 Max SL doesn't get the 5 speed auto so it's a bit off the pace because of that already.
Adding heavier 18 inch wheels will just give you a rougher ride with slower acceleration.
A nice set of 17" would make the car look nice, increase it's performance, keep the ride softer (the reason you probably got the SL) and wouldn't hurt your mpg either.
Just my duce!
