My drivers side lamp won't return to low beam from high beam once the lights have been on for 20 minutes or so. Its really annoying. Leave the car off for 20 minutes and everything's good for another 10-20 minutes till it gets stuck again.

I talked to the dealership and have a service appointment. I'm sure its a mechanical problem. There seems to be some sort of mask that flips up or down to change from low to high. Its not returning properly once the lamp housing is warmed up from use. The service advisor tells me he's ordering some new computer module for the repair.

His line of questioning was interesting though. He was asking a lot of questions about the DRL's and Fog lamps. Wether they came on or off correctly, or were burned out. I'd expect from his questions that it has been a problem for the 04 Maxima's lately.

Someone else on this forum has had to have their headlight control unit fixed. So it may become a problem with more cars in the future.
