Scratch! Help!

Arrived at my car yesterday to find a three inch horizontal scratch on the left passenger door

Any ideas on the best way to fix it?

Thanks. . .Jim

It depends on the scratch and it's depth. You might be able to simply use a mild polish to cover it. Or you might want to take it to a professional detailer or even a bodyshop if it is very deep.

Call the dealer and see if you can get a bottle of the touch-up paint... i had a wide scratch, not deep but the kind you'd get from a dirt-clod or rock hitting the hood, right in the middle.... used a little touch up paint, let it dry, then washed, polished and waxed, and it looks pretty good.... you can still see a little bit where the paint was applied, but i think that'll buff out in time with a few more polishes and waxes.

don't mess it up with the touch up paint. . . be very very careful with it. . . i would recommend putting some compound on it first before messing with paint. . . go to any detailing place. . . they'll do it for you in that spot for almost nothing$$$. . .
