WOOHOO! check out my car NOW! :)
Got the subs, amp, CD changer installed yesterday! Also the Frankencar intake. Check out my new baby! My custom spoiler is on its way, too. Let me know what you think. By the way, the sub/amp installation was pretty easy for the audio place, they didnt have any major problems tapping into the speaker lines, especially since my amp already had the high/low converter. Sounds GREAT! Finally, the Bose system as it should have been all along.
Woops, forgot the link. http://www.chrisaustin.us/car.html

What other angles would you like to see? And yes, i got the changer specifically for the mp3 capability. THere's only like 2 models of mp3 changers out there, this Sony and one other, JVC maybe, but its great. The sound on the sub is pretty awesome, I had to turn the levels down just a little, so i could turn up the sound and not have the bass be overpowering. Also need to get a dynamat license plate frame, so that doesnt vibrate like hell. But if you guys want any more pics, let me know what you'd like to see.
the debadging is pretty easy, just dont use anything metal. I couldnt find anything to use, so i ended up using those plastic flat rope things that you see big boxes wrapped in to keep sealed, they usually have a gold buckle at one end. just kind of sawed it back and forth until i got a good hold on the letter, then just pulled until it popped off. then just had to peel off the black tape by hand, which wasnt too bad. clean it all off, wash and wax and it looks GREAT! My tint job cost me about $240, it actually cost more but because the guy gave me that price as an estimate, they only charged me that amount, instead of the $275 it ended up being.

I had 15% put on all windows except the front. Cost = $125.00 w/lifetime warranty.
It's crazy how the cost of living differs
yeah, nice huh.... gas is $2 a gallon, rent is $1100 for a 1-bed apt, and tinted windows is $240, and now a guy who once gave birth to a baby is now our governor.... gotta love CALL-eee-PHONE-yuh

and the funny thing, the weather isn't sooooooo great. Yeah, it never snows and never gets to 110, but it gets old being foggy and overcase during the WHOLE summer, but when it IS nice, there's no better place to be. I'm just glad that if I do move somewhere else, I really can't move anywhere that's MORE expensive than here, so I'll be set.

I think that you get what you pay for when it comes to window tinting....If you spent 240 i think that is a bit high but if teh guy did a good job and you are happy ( especially with teh back window) then props to you. Also there si no difference in the price of 15% or 35% but their is a difference in the price of the brand of film. So some people who get a "great Price" wind up with film that is crappy quality and does not hold up over time or posess the UV characteristics of higher quality tinting films.

Did you hook up the amp to the the stock bose speakers. How does the stock system sound with the amped subs? I; m loking to put a dvd in dash player in mine. Is there anything out there yet? Are you going to replace the stock bose speakers in your car?
I didnt hook up the amp to the stock speakers, but I tapped into the speaker line going to the stock amps that are located at each of the rear deck speakers, then ran that to the amp, which then was hooked to the subs. The subs pretty much overpower those stock deck speakers, and in my case something was messed up in one of the rear deck speakers and was causing it to "flubber", dont know how to describe it, basically make a farting noise, kind of like its blown out, when the sub would hit hard, took it back to the stereo place that did the install and they ended up just unplugging those rear-deck subs, since there's really no need for them with the sub box. Maybe eventually I'll put in normal 6 1/2" or 6x9" in those rear deck spots, a couple component tweeters right behind the two front seats, and another sub to power those to add some more balanced sound all around the car, but for now, it sounds great to me!
