you should ask the same question in the tires and rims forum of maxima.org...nobody here really has a great understanding of rims...try and be more specific--->chrome? size? price range? are you going to take care of your rims or are they gonna get dirty and stay dirty? are you good at avoiding potholes? all of those factors are important...but above all else: what kind of look are you going for?
you will get instant answers for offsets and possibilities in that forum...over here a lot of opinions

i read your post again, and maybe i can offer some insight...if you are looking for chrome, the best bang for the buck would be lexani single piece rims...all around $500 each plus $250-$300 tires per wheel...i mentioned before, very durable and recognizable.

if you can afford more step up to maya or lowenhart rims $900-$1100 per wheel plus the tires...the mayas are beautiful, durable, and recognizable.

the lowenharts are beautiful, durable, but look like other rims. my friend has the BR5s

on his TL and he always complains to me that people always are asking what brand rim he has...those in the know, know lownharts, but to the average looker, they can't tell.

these prices are all 20" rims...sticking with 18" rims makes the price considerably lower.

napier (neeeper) rims are about $500 each, but quality is not there. i have another friend with napier on his truck and they are all pitted up...not dinged or curbed, but pitted...

if you can't afford the lexanis, then get non-chrome rims, but i can't help you there...all of my friends have chrome, and so ends my post.

Volks, Racing hart, I-forged, HRE, Ray's, lowenhart, SSR are light and durable, not too affordable though. You would have to look and get a good deal but they are out there. And since u have 18s now, staying with 18s is silly, go up to 19 or 20s. Though with 20s without a brake upgrade, your stock brakes will look very small. Keep in mind your ride will get worse and you will wear tires more quickly but with wider wheels (and especially with better springs/shocks) your car will handle better.

Do u want to see the brakes? If not pick a fat spoke wheel. 5 spokes are classic and odd number spokes are more pleasing to the eye than even number.
