Ok well Im really wanting that aftermarket spoiler but I already Have a lip spoiler. Since the aftermarket ones can be had off ebay for a decent price then could I just remove my lip spoiler and install this one?? I read something in that past about how there is holes where the emblem was on the lip spoiler but can I just put the emblem back in without the spoiler? I know many people dont have the spoiler but do have the emblem on the rear. I would really apreciate some help here guys. thanks a lot

Well Its not the installation of the spoiler Im worried about. Im worried that if I remove my lip spoiler, are there going to be holes behind it? If so will the nissan logo go in the holes without the spoiler so I can keep my emblem. thanks though

If you plan on selling the lip spoiler then I'll take it. I'm not sure about the holes in the trunk lid or if there are any. I was under the impression that the holes for the nissan emblem were in the spoiler itself, not the trunk but I could be wrong. Anyway, let me know if you want to sell the lip spoiler.

I installed my lip spoiler right after I bought my 2004 Maxima last month. I drilled 4 holes. No hole for the emblem, you just stick it with the 2 sided tape.

Why dont you remove the lip spoiler just to see what it looks like underneath? You can always just screw it back in.... In all likelihood the holes wont match up with an aftermarket one, since the lip spoiler only goes on, you guessed it, the lip, whereas an aftermarket one will attach entirely to the top of the trunk, closer to the back window....

According to the Maintenance Manual there are three holes behind the stock lip spoiler, and tons of two sided tape. One hole is behind the emblem, although the emblem is adhered to the body with tape. The other holes are outboard on the spoiler and appear to be a few inches in from each end. You will need to have a body shop fill these if you are going to abandon the lip spoiler in lieu of a trunk mounted "wing". You will also need to tap into the wiring harnesses if you are buying a "lit wing". Hope this helps.

Did you see the trunk lip spoiler on the thread started by "venom903"? Its larger than stock and appears to install over the stock spoiler. Could just be the picture that makes it look that way.... Its also only a lip design verses one that sits above the trunk lid.
