Depends on what you are trading for. I'd imagine from 22,000 to 25,000 bucks, though.

A lot more than a 98 SE will get you for sure. Why would you trade it in and take a huge hit with the depreciation?

The first year of owning a car is the worst to it trade in. People aren't going to opt for a slightly used car when they can get a brand new one for a little more. It's more then likely you'll get the same amount for a trade in now, as you would get in 6 to 12 months because of this. People will pay 23000 for a 30,000 dollar car, that is a year old. But they won't pay 28,000 for a used 30,000 car that a few months old, when they can spend the 2,000 extra bucks and get new. That way they have a full warranty, and be able to take advantage of any special financing, rebates, or service offers (free service or life...) that are available at the time.

Redsand is right but partially...I think that people would buy a used car that is few months old...Someone else took the depreciation hit...Also,you may get the car as a dealer certified ,fact that doesn t make the car better ,but it does make the car more attractive due a lower price, and longer warranty.

Look it up on Kelly's Blue Book site. You will probably realize a couple of thousand more for it if you sell it yourself. The dealer will only give you wholesale. If he offers you more than that, he will probably charge you the sticker price for the new one you plan to buy.

Kelly Blue Book (www.kbb.com) does not have 2004 model information on their site at this time. Typically the current model year has to be out for about 6 months before they have that information updated on their site. Same holds true for Edmunds (www.edmunds.com) and NADA. Edmunds' site doesn't even have the 2003 model year yet.
