How to take out dash in my 04 maxima

Does anyone know how to take out the dash where my cd player and radio is located or have any pictures on how to do it? I really need to access the radio connections. Any help would be great. Thanks.

The 04 Maxima is pretty new, but you may try your luck with www.crutchfield.com . I have ordered different things from them and they included the "master sheet" for free. If you just need the Master Sheet, it may only cost you a few bucks to get it. They have diagrams on how to take things apart, and also what tools you will need. Good luck.

This is taken from another thread on replacing the nav screen..

"It's pretty easy to take apart.
You take the panel where the shifter is off it just pulls off.( I have a 6 speed so I just unscrew the shift ****. on the auto I think there is a tab somewhere on the shifter you have to push)

once you have that panel off there are 2 screws holding the panel with the cd/tape deck remove the screws and just pull on the panel

now you have 2 more screws holding the panel with the screen housing take out the screws and pull the panel from the bottom up (the vents may separate from the panel don't freak they just clip into place)
the hardest part is taking the shifter off the auto not 100% on how they come off

Hope this helps you"

The piece around the shifter is just clipped in and pulls up - start by opening the center console and lifting that edge. As you have read you must get the shifter **** off first, auto **** is the hardest. Once the shifter "piece" is off, the panel around the CD/Tape area has two screws at the bottom (under where the shifter piece meets it). Take those out and then pull out from the bottom.

Good luck

I've tried taking mine apart that way. I've pulled pretty hard from the rear side of that cover plate from inside the cup-holder area and it won't come off.

Is there any trick to it?

ok here is what i did

1) for automatic twist plastic under shift **** left to unscrew then pull shifter up

2)pry up the plastic around the hand brake

3)pry up the plastic part that has the letters N D R to do this there are clips on each corner (use better knife to prevent scratching anything, also will have to put in neutral or drive to get the piece off) there will be 2 plastic connectors with wires comming out just pull those out they are for lighting up the letters

4)once that piece is off use same butter knife and pry up the plastic piece that goes around the cassette and cd player same panal that has the climate controls on it should be like 6 clips if i remember correctly and 1 connector on the back

5)after that is off the panal with the radio buttons and screen is left use same butter knife to pry it up on the part closest to you and lift it up with fingers at a 90 degree angle for it to come off the vents will come off with it

6) once that part is off there is only 4 screws holding the radio in place 2 beside the cd player or changer if that is what u have and 2 close to the screen it is all connected to one bracket so it will come out as one bigt piece

7)putting it back together just reverse the process
