Ordered Eibachs..install tips please!

ok I ordered the eibach springs yesterday so I plan on installing them next week in my automotive class. We have all the tools needed and the instructor said he would walk me through the install. anyways is there anything I need to know before doing this? Should I trim the bumpstops any?? Since im doing the labor im not worried about riding on stock shocks because as soon as some aftermarket ones come out Il install them. thanks.. oh and il have pics as soon as I can get em put on.

I'm excited for you and I wish I could offer you advice, but as you may already know my uncle did the install for me. I'll be waiting for the pictures of your lowered Max and then maybe you can tell me how you feel about the ride.

I installed my springs without any problems. The rears took about 30 min each. There is a complete write up on replacing the springs on an 02 Altima which should be the same for you. Here's the link http://www.altimas.net/forum/showthr...threadid=33448

You shouldn't need to trim the bump stops unless, Eibach recomends it. You only have to worry about the bump stops when you go extremely low, or use very soft lowering springs.

You should do an alignment after you install the springs. Your front camber will be out quite a bit.

It's pretty straight forward.

All he did was replace the springs, nothing else.

Not really, overall I think the springs are more of a "look" mod than a "performance" mod. I've had mine on for a year now and not had any problems although I bet it will wear out the OE struts faster. Ride comfort is pretty good, just go easy on the bigger bumps otherwise you will knock a filling out or become one with the roof of your car.

Hi there, I haven't been on this site for awhile, but I thought I'd let you know that I have installed eibachs on my 03 Alty, and it's a simple job with a helper. If you have a lift it'll be even easier. The above link gives you a great guide. I dont know how much is the same, but I'm guessing the 6th gen max's are pretty close in suspension to the Altys. Good luck, you should be pleased.

Well ive seen pics of the eibachs and the front seems to sit a tad higher but thats cool with me. its very minimal. I will have pics posted after the springs are on and an alignment is done. Oh and thanks for the advice on tools, I will try and be careful.

Well springs came in today and I got to class and got em put on in a few hours. The drop looks awsome, it hasnt settled but its even so its a big improvement over stock. The ride is actually better than stock because it doesnt bounce as much and the steering doesnt feel so loose anymore. I couldnt be happier!! I would like to thank slurppie for the install link and everyone for there help and tip. oh yeah the eibachs came with a new bumpstop and boot so that made everything easier. Il have pics up soon. later
