Torn door seal... and missing trunk light cover? Clicking noises after turning off?

Well guys, my GF accidently tore the door seal . Here are the pics:

and:

In these pics, I tried to make the tear 'flush' against the rest of the seal... I know it doesn't quite look like it, but it is actually kind of like a big flap. Is there anything that can be done about this? Should I worry at all?

Also, I noticed that there isn't a trunk light cover in my car.. anyone else not have one? Is this normal?

One last question... when I turn my car off there is a series of 'clicks' for a good while which I always thought was normal (exhaust cooling down and contracting, etc). Lately I've been noticing that it's getting worse. Anyone else's Max exhibit this?

I know there is a lot here, but thanks for any replies.

I also don't have the trunk light cover for my 2004 Maxima SE. If the car did not come with the cover, I'll have to look for a cover at Pep Boys or other automotive store.

Yup. No cover on mine either. The liner hangs down too low and blocks off the light. If you push it up to expose the bulb more it gives off much more light.

Yeah, same thing with mine. You can kind of even see it in my pic there.

Any thoughts on the door seal thing? Or the thermal expansion/contraction sounds after turning it off?
Thanks

The ticking noises from the engine and exhaust are normal...

I doubt the seal will give you problems, but if it bothers you, just get it replaced.

Ask to see if your vehicle was supposed to come with a light cover assembly...it's all you can do.

Well we just found a leak above the drivers side speaker on the door, right where the plastic meets the head curtain airbag thing. The speaker was not messed up but the lining was all wet....my wife took it to the dealership and they are calling some glass peeps in to fix the leek wherever it is coming from. They are going to take out the drivers side window and reseal it. I did not see it coming in from the window but of course I didnt see it till I got home. I just hope they fix it right! They were really nice and shocked to see it happen.

I did not expect them to be so nice because we turned down there deal and bought the car 80 miles away at a different dealership. I guess they just didnt care, who knows......I will update you on this. But after 5000 miles this was the first hard rain we had had. I guess I can test it out the next time I wash it.

The ticking noise is mostly from the heatshiedling on the y-pipe. It is just spot welded together so this allows for huge amounts of expansion in between the welds.
