Headliner lint/dust?
Headliner lint/dust?
This is my first car with a cloth headliner. I've had some problems with creaks/pops coming from 3 different areas of the headlier and I've accomplished to get the dealer to fix 1 and look into the other 2. I was told by a Svc. Tech that the headliner is attached at some places with velcro. Does this seem accurate?
Anyway, I've noticed that there seems to be a lot of lint/fiber all over the interior of the car a day after a thorough cleaning. I especially see it on the Black dash surface and the Nav screen. I'm wondering whether this is normal for a car with a cloth headliner or whether it's an indication of a 'loose' headliner. Any help or knowledge would be appreciated.

Yes it does attach with velcro. If you have the Skyview roof you can see by pulling down the liner at the bridge between the two windows. There are pieces of black industrial velcro that hold that section up.
My headliner makes rattleing noises from that bridge area, as well as from underneath the front lighting console on the roof. I took it into the dealer and they fixed it to about 90%. Occasionally it will still rattle. By closing the privacy cover it totally eliminates the rattle. I think it comes from the black plastic trim piece below the glass on the front glass section. If it continues through the winter I may get crazy and do something with a bead of silicone to firm it up.
