Nice times but a pic of the slip would seal the deal for the many skeptics!

You are the Man ...

I believe this car is has about the same HP to the ground as the Z, FWD loses a little less in drive train loss yet, can not get full grip off the line. So a tenth of a second here and there is no big deal. Exspecially when your talkin about a full size fwd sedan.

Also, for those that say must be a downhill track, well the downhill would help ALL the cars running NOT just the max.

I'm pumped, I have to wait until April, May ... I may not be stock then

I agree. My friend's 2003 G35 auto sedan had a best time of 14.9 when we went to the track. I ran a 14.7 the same day and I was stock back then too (2002 TLS). There's a video of both passes on one of the Infiniti forums. I guess the slower times could be due to hot, humid weather. Also, both of us had nearly a full tank of gas and random stuff in the trunk (we went shopping). It was our first time ever at a track. Nice runs and post some slips if you can.

It's not a downhill track, but the conditions were ideal for getting excellent ET/MPH. Seeing that he's running at a track at near sea level and the temps were in the 40s/50s, low humidity, and a high baropressure, any car will get good times. Not to take anything away from his runs, but the conditions that day created a density altitude of around 1100' BELOW sea level. That will make cars usually .2-.3 quicker (every 1200' = .2 seconds, 1.5mph). This is the same track Celica GT-S' with just intakes and removed mufflers have hit 14.3s@100mph under the same conditions.

A 14.3 for a bonestock G35 coupe is by far the quickest I've heard for any G35 coupe auto. Guys are lucky to be getting 14.3-14.4s in their G35 coupe 6 speeds.

So if he should take it to Bandimere and turn in a 15.30 you would be impressed?

And no, I wouldn't be impressed because that's close to what stock 2002-2003 Maxima autos are running at my track.

i thaught g35 coupes where sapose to run low 14s stock in an auto.. i thaught he would actualy do better than a 14.3.. there are 350z's autos running low 14s stock.. and yup the day was perfect, and i know your not takeing anything away from the runs, but it was ideal to race this day.. my last run of the day i was gonna launch highter for a better 60ft, and my bro and my cousin wanted to leave, so who knows with those conditions i could have maybe done evan better. guess well never know.. when i got the hang of the car again and that track my times where getting better and better, so but if its not on paper it doent matter, no slip no better than a 14.48 for now..

So if we apply the 1,200/.2 rule the stock 02/03 should do 16.0ish at Bandimere, 15.3 in KS and 15.2 in NY? That doesn't sound right, maybe it's my math skills.
Or did you mean the stock 02/03s are doing 14.5 at your track? 15.3 at Bandimere, 14.5 in KS and 14.4 in NY?

Either way, I wouldn't want to let ga2000 get the hole shot on me out on the boulevard. His previous best 14.6+ and consistent 2.2 60' at 89 degrees/72% are not too shabby.

lol thanks bluemaxx!!! ny is pretty good for raceing, pretty much sea level as well.. and yeah i am very consistant with the 2.2 60ft, ill be a pro when i nail 2.1s all the time, right now sometimes i get a 2.1.. who knows if the 04 is any faster than the 03 or 02's, i say its a drivers race no matter what. as far as i know there have been 02 and 03s that have ran 14.4s stock?? before we had the 04 max i was at the track and there was a 03 gle auto with cold air intake, running 14.6s and 14.7s and as far as i could remember he ran a 14.4, temp was in the 50s, but he did have intake, and i really dont think intake does that much..

Nope, low 15s in stock 2k2 autos. Granted I've only seen two of them run and the guys that were running for fun (they came with other car guys). They both were in the lower 15s at around 91mph. There is a 6 speed 2k3 in our KC group and his best is a 14.8@94mph with a bad 2.3 60'. He's pulled quite a few 14.9s, if I remember right. I have heard thru the grapevine that an auto Altima with a catback, UDP, and CAI has pulled 14.7@94mph at my track and I have witnessed a stock Altima 5 speed doing 14.5-14.6@95mph. Apparantly this same guy pulled a 14.2-14.3 a few weeks later under the same exact conditions ga2000 ran in. All my friends that went to the track that day left with personel bests (.2-.3 and 2mph faster). I'm still kicking myself for not going.

Either way, I wouldn't want to let ga2000 get the hole shot on me out on the boulevard. His previous best 14.6+ and consistent 2.2 60' at 89 degrees/72% are not too shabby.
Yep, I'd probably be owned if I wasn't paying attention. The only thing I have going for me in topend and I can't put that to use until 70mph+.

I understand the "perfect day" theories.

BUT, if the G35C was just a .1+ faster under the same conditions, this says to me that the Max is clearly in the ballpark of performance (unless the G35 coup driver couldn't drive).

It would be interesting to see other gens run, it wouldn't take anything away from ga2000's runs do to the nature of the 6 Gen.

That's good to hear. Then I would say the Max is right up there with some of the best sedans in this class.
