Sun visor rattle.

Anyone else have their sun visors rattle? I had my passenger side replaced 2 months ago, and now it is rattling again. Now the driver side is starting too. I think it is the plastic door that you can pull out of the end that is rattling internally. I really wish they had not added that, as I really see no advantage to blocking out that much more light.

MaxPilot,
Its not the visor extender. You know the small visor under the main visor? The rattle comes from the inner visor shaft/mount closest to the rear view mirror. I no longer own my 04 Max so I am going from memory , hang with me and my instructions... Pop the main visor out of "that mount" and rotate against the side window, like your blocking the sun from the side. Now your looking up at the secondary/smaller visor. If in the drivers seat, the clip/mount to the right by the mirror is the culprit. Notice how the shaft fits in that little hole loosely? That is your rattle!! One Phillips head screw holds that clip to the ceiling. Their may be a cover etc over the screw... Remove the clip/mount and slide it off the shaft. Wrap a small amount of black tape etc., cut to size, around the end of the shaft that slips in the mount/clip. Wrap just enough so that it slips into the mount easily but no rattle. I used 1/4 inch wide pin-striping tape wrapped just around the last 1/4 inch of the shaft... That way once installed you could not see it on the shaft. It only took about 2-3 rotations of tape around the shaft for a perfect fit. Re-install, no more rattles.

Obviously several different ways to snug up the shaft but this one took about 10 min per side max. Something the Nissan service dept not only couldn't find, but had no desire to??????

Hope your rattle is the same! It is an easy fix without a trip to the dealer...

I'll give that a shot. I already did try tightening all screws that I could find with no help. Thanks
