Mine came in right at 9 weeks, seemed like forever. I envy you getting the 5 speed auto, that might have been worth a longer wait. Not that I'm really complaining . . .

You are more patient than I. No way I could wait that long.

I perused the Maxima SL inventory of every dealer (around 30 of them)within 100 miles of Atlanta on the Nissan site around 3AM Friday, and found around fifty 5 speed SLs. Almost every interior/exterior color combination was available, and many had the driver preferred package.

I was frankly surprised to find as many 5 speed SLs on dealer lots just one month after Nissan began making them.

If I could not get my dealer to 'swap' with another dealer for the car I wanted, I would search other dealer's inventories on the Nissan site, find the car I wanted, and go get it.

The serial numbers of '04 Maximas are now almost to 900,000 (first one was 800001), and every SL with a serial above around 891000 is a 5 speed.

One other reason I'm ordering the car is I can only find the combo that I want with the sunroof on the dealer lots. I'm 6'3" and the extra 1.5" of headroom with the skyview roof is necessary.
