Daytime Running Lamps - DRL

I would like to add Daytime Running Lamps to my 2004 Maxima. Does anyone know if there is a standard plug-in relay that can be purchased for this car. I'm sure the Canadian models have DRL, and most new cars are wired for easy addition depending on the market.
Does anyone have a Service/Shop manual and could research this in the schematics?

set it as auto, then cover the auto light sensor, then you get
daytime running lamps...

i painted the inside of the cover for the auto light sensor, now my
headlight turns on automatically when it becomes little dark.

I don't understand why the US cars don't have them. At least as an option.

If you have HID's, you might want to think about that one. Replacing one of those bad boys might get costly, and I don't think we've established the duty cycle for these xenons.

I know this is old-maidish, but I try to use the HID's on both my cars only when needed ... and that includes not using "Auto", since that makes them come on when you go in your garage or under an overpass. Running them all the time, though, is outta' the park IMO.

I had my lights on auto and a cover over the sensor and the dealer's service dept, ask why. Explained that I wanted daytime lights. Was told that would shorten the light life and having them on auto and going off & on in the garage would also shorten the life. They also said they were expensive to replace. I ask if I found a place to provide an accessory add-on light would that effect the warranty. Didn't get a yes or no answer. If I find an acceptable light I'm going to put it on. There are many days I wish I had my SHO back, the daytime light burnt out often, but anybody, including my self, and that means anybody could replace them and for a few dollars.
