New Maxima colors: Coral Sand and Smoke
Parts of this diatribe have been posted here, but I haven't seen much about the new Maxima colors.
The '04 Maxima rollout included eight colors. Burnt Ember was an introductory hue that was only produced for about six months, leaving only seven colors.
Along with the conversion of the SL from 4 speed auto to 5 speed auto around serial # 891000, Nissan added two new colors:
Coral Sand. Deeper, more robust tan than the champaign mist. I would describe it as British kakhi. My dealer has one, and it looks better than the champaign mist to me.
Smoke. Dark grey. Same shade as my '04 Ranger Edge supercab. Classic conservative color.
As interest to some, the '04 Maxima serial numbers crossed from the 800,000 range to the 900,000 range a few weeks ago, signifying over 100,000 have been produced.
Those wishing to special-order an '04 Maxima have less than a month left in which to do so.
